Quality & testing

Test data, not adjectives

Every production batch is tested in our own laboratory before release. The results go onto the certificate of analysis that ships with the order — so what you receive can be checked against what you ordered.

Testing scope

Parameters measured in-house

The laboratory covers the full parameter set an overseas buyer expects on a certificate of analysis for engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic fluids and greases.

  • Kinematic viscosity at 100 °C
  • Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C
  • Viscosity index
  • Flash point and fire point
  • Pour point
  • Water content
  • Mechanical impurities
  • Copper strip corrosion
  • Foaming characteristics
  • Air release value
  • Demulsibility
  • Oxidation stability
  • Evaporation loss
  • High-temperature high-shear viscosity
  • Four-ball anti-wear performance
  • Low-temperature dynamic viscosity

Reference standards

Test methods we work to

Products are manufactured to our own enterprise standard Q/0602YLY 001, with test methods drawn from the national petroleum test standards below and from API, ACEA, ISO and OEM requirements where a product claims a performance level.

GB/T 265 Petroleum products — determination of kinematic viscosity and calculation of dynamic viscosity
GB/T 260 Petroleum products — determination of water
GB/T 511 Petroleum products and additives — determination of mechanical impurities
GB/T 1995 Petroleum products — calculation of viscosity index
GB/T 3535 Petroleum products — determination of pour point
GB/T 3536 Petroleum products — determination of flash and fire points
GB/T 4756 Petroleum liquids — manual sampling
GB/T 12579 Lubricating oils — determination of foaming characteristics
GB 11121 Gasoline engine oils
