A 1,000-hour teardown tells you about the bore
After one thousand hours of service the 498Z diesel engine was torn down. The cross-hatch honing on the cylinder bores was still clearly visible, which puts bore wear where it was expected to be. The inspection was carried out on site by test-centre and industry specialists.
